Nick has been volunteering with us for about 9 years. He’s almost part of the furniture!
Nick says, “We are in a very different place now to where we were 9 years ago. And the reason we’ve got foodbanks is to help people who’ve had an unfortunate turn of events in their life, and that’s my motivation really. I want to give something back, and a real way to do that is to come and help at the foodbank.”
“But actually it’s a two way street because I get as much back as I give help to others. I feel a genuine sense of pleasure at helping to move somebody on. Sometimes people just want to chat, and its rewarding to see them leave the foodbank with a smile on their face knowing that someone cares.”
