Meet Christine, one of our longest standing volunteers 🙋♀️
Christine says, “I come here because I’ve got a passion for people. I hate the thought of people being hungry. We all wish that the foodbank wasn’t here, but because it’s here we love coming, meeting people and helping them to move on and get what they need.”
“The cost of living crisis is really frightening. When I go shopping I see things going up, and they are not going up by a penny, they are going up 10, 20p. I buy oil for the foodbank, and that’s gone from £1.09 a litre a few weeks ago to £1.55. How do people cope? And that’s a basic, you know.”
