“I love it, having the privilege of talking to people, and having people talk to me about themselves and their lives, it’s just wonderful. I’ve experienced through people the fragility of our so called civilisation. We do have a welfare system, but it is set up in such a way as to be very difficult to access. And it’s been set up by people who haven’t had any experience of these sort of crises really. How people can be expected to last 5 weeks without any money when they haven’t got a family to fall back on their savings or whatever, it’s just ridiculous.”
