From this Thursday, 16 April, the foodbank will begin to distribute vital food and drink items around the community for those who need it most.

Donations will begin two days earlier, from Tuesday 14 April, at the Owls Megastore car park between 10.00am and 1.00pm on weekdays.

Food and drink can be dropped off at the stadium in a contactless manner that reflects social distancing and government guidelines.

The foodbank will support the communities of Hillsborough, Wisewood, Southey and Wadsley Bridge through these troubled times.

Sam Evans of S6 Foodbank said: “It is so fantastic to be partnering with Sheffield Wednesday to meet the needs of those in our community.

“The Owls and their fans have been long term supporters and incredibly generous to the foodbank through donating food on matchdays and raising money.

“Without partnerships like this we just would not be able to support the people we do.”

Individuals or families can access the foodbank by calling 0114 3210733.

The charity is currently running particularly short of UHT milk, tinned vegetables, tinned meat and tinned fish, although any donations will be greatly appreciated.

S6 Foodbank is one of a range of charity beneficiaries for whom the Owls have launched an official donation page during the COVID-19 crisis.

Cash pledges have now exceeded £25,000 – CLICK HERE for full details and how you can help make a difference.
